History of Cameron Group International

by Duncan Cameron

By the Chairman Duncan Cameron

My background is 40 plus years in the broadcast industry, radio, television, cable and mobile phones, sales and administration, and a little dabble in on air broadcasting, retired as VP of Moffat Communications.

Moffat Communications encouraged participation in the community and allowed me to volunteer and join Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Rotary International, Kinsmen, Shrine, Freemasonry, Elder of my CHURCH, Mental Health, Cancer Society, Kinsmen International Band Festival, Women in Need, these are groups I chaired over the years. THE ROTARY 4 WAY TEST, are values I grew up with, values CAMERON GROUP INTERNATIONAL, hold dearly too!

For the past 20 odd years I have had a long association with Africa, through Rotary International in its quest to eradicate polio. It is sad to hear that there have been a number of cases announced this past week in Nigeria, due to a group in northern Nigeria who will not allow access to vaccinate.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideals of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

I am blessed to have people working with me that also have those same values, I know that is why we will succeed in the daunting task to be part of ending poverty.

Most of the 40 companies Cameron Group International does business with or for, GIVE BACK 15% TO AS HIGH AS 90% OF THEIR NET PROFITS TO THE COMMUNITIES WE DO BUSINESS WITH. Officially CGI (Africa) LLC, was registered in Accra, Ghana on May 26th 2016. In keeping with our mandate CGI (Africa) is held by Africans, and like all new kids on the block, we have had growing pains, adjusting to the CGI values and earning the right to do business in Africa.

I spent the month of April in Africa, meeting with Chiefs, Government Officials, Potential JV Partners, looking for CGI (Africa) to source funding for their projects and discussing partnering with local groups.

We identified many billions of USD in infrastructure projects from railways, mines, oil refineries, airports, public wash rooms, hospitals and smart cities, premium housing projects. In the month of August 2016, CGI (Africa) signed a 1.5 billion USD JV project to build 9,000 homes, with another project for 31,000 social housing, which our lawyers and bankers are finishing the details to start the project in September 2016.

Cameron Group International is a group of dedicated professionals from all over the world. We are a hands-on, profit-oriented management firm with a proven record of professionalism and success in fast track, competitive environments. Our team can facilitate the forming of strategic partnerships between companies and entrepreneurs creating long-term success for both.

Sincerely: Duncan Cameron | Chairman
